
Nowood Watershed Improvement District
History of Nowood Watershed Improvement District (NWID)
Formerly known as the Nowood Drainage Storage Steering Committee (2007-2015), the
Nowood Watershed Improvement District was established in 2015 under the governing
authority of the South Big Horn & Washakie County Conservation Districts. The goal of NWID
is to provide late season irrigation water storage for Nowood Watershed users. The Nowood
River watershed is generally located on the western slope of the Big Horn Mountains in Big
Horn and Washakie Counties, Wyoming, covering approximately 2,020 square miles. The
Nowood River is tributary to the Big Horn River and joins it at the Town of Manderson. The
watershed encompasses the Towns of Hyattville and Tensleep.

Nowod Watershed Improvement District meetings are held the first Monday of each month at the Manderson Fire Hall @ 7:00 PM

2024 Board of Directors Election
The Nowood WID Board of Directors election will be held on November 5, 2024. Applications for Board of Director positions will be available beginning August 6, 2024. ​

In order to vote, we must have a copy of your "Written Authorization Form" on file 30 days before the election.

This is a mail ballot Election. Ballots can be mailed back to our office at 408 Greybull Avenue, Greybull WY 82426. Please do not send them to the County Clerk.
